Film and Law Event
Erin is a single mother of three. Hired—already by a stroke of luck—at a law firm, she discovers an old case file and decides, once again on her own, to build a case for a class-action lawsuit on behalf of all the victims of a massive pollution incident.
This film is, of course, the story of an American myth: the idea that sheer willpower can achieve anything when it comes to advancing in society. But it is also an excellent depiction of the American class-action procedure. It serves as an excellent basis for discussion, as well, on the differences between this and the “French-style class action.”
