Synopsis: Because adoption is not just the parents’ journey, and because the child remains the central focus that must always be kept in mind, *Pupille*, directed by Jeanne Herry, shines a spotlight on the adoptive parent, but above all on the adoptee.
Théo, born to an anonymous mother, finds himself caught up in the administrative maze of the adoption process until he meets Alice, a single woman struggling to adopt.
Pupille is also an ode to this child, who needs guidance from birth through adoption. A child who needs to be loved and encouraged—by child welfare services, their foster family, and their permanent family alike.
