The 7th Juror

Georges Lautner (1962)
A pharmacist rapes and kills a young woman near a lake. The victim’s lover is accused of the murder, and as luck would have it, the real killer is selected by lottery to serve as a juror in the criminal court.
Offering Bernard Blier one of his finest roles, Georges Lautner takes a disillusioned look in this 1962 film at the workings of the judicial system, citizens’ participation in the administration of justice, and the risk of miscarriages of justice.
