Views of young people in France and Germany

Both countries, and young people in particular, are facing major societal, climatic, and geopolitical challenges.
The Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ) commissioned Kantar Public to conduct a representative study in which a total of 1,527 young people in Germany and 1,551 young people in France aged between 16 and 25 were asked how they saw the future.
Around two-thirds of young people in France and Germany are worried about their future. They are particularly dissatisfied with their opportunities for participation and consider climate change to be the greatest challenge. Although young people in both countries take a rather critical view of the future, they are optimistic about Franco-German cooperation and European solidarity.
